  • Notater
    • When she was in her mid-forties she decided to continue her education and pursued a degree in elementary education at the University of Nevada, Reno completing her studies in 1968. Upon completing her education she taught first and second grade for twelve years in the Nevada school system. Because of the compassion and love she had for young children, as well as her teaching ability she was considered one of the outstanding teachers at that level. She was an avid seamstress, always doing needle work or collecting material to use in braided rugs. She was an active member of the LDS church. Her favorite calling was serving as a teacher in the Primary.

During the early part of her married life she was able to accompany her husband on all of his military assignments, having the opportunity to live in many locations of the United States as well as overseas in the Orient, Europe and the Middle East. She accepted each new challenge with enthusiasm and optimism never fearing the unknown or whatever adversity she might encounter.
